Purchased in 2007, the earliest date-of-record on occupancy of the house (so far) comes from a weekly Christian Reader dated 1902, leading us to believe that construction took place several years earlier. Restoration began immediately in the Spring of 2007. The roof, for about the prevous ten years, leaked into the sturdy lathe and plaster, which had, some 15 years earlier, been covered with dry wall. Water accumulated within this enclosed space before finally breaking out as the roof continued to deteriorate, allowing the entry of ever increasing amounts of water with each rain. With the exception of one, minor, interior wall, damage to the principal structure was minimal.
